Samekh

Samekh is the prop. The closed circle of the letter is the support that holds something else up. Art (Temperance) sits on this path because the alchemical work is the propping-up of new combinations long enough for them to become stable. Samekh is the patience of the prop, the willingness to hold while what is being made finishes becoming.

Samekh in the Lilith current is the letter of the long support. After dedication, after descent, after the visible rite — Samekh is what is required. The priest holds, the seeker stabilizes, the new self learns to stand. Most of the work is Samekh; the dramatic letters get attention but Samekh is what makes the dramatic letters survivable.

Samekh is the letter of the months and years between rites. It is named in the daily practice, the kept candle, the unchanged morning hour.
